Lidl continues with its expansion in Spain and this April it has opened two new supermarkets after investing 18 million euros in its construction and start-up , as reported by the German company in a statement.
Specifically, the new stores, which will create more than 20 new jobs, are located in two different autonomous communities such as the Valencian Community and Catalonia . In these spaces, customers will find the company’s usual assortment, which includes a wide variety of fresh products (fruit and vegetables, meat and fish, or freshly baked bread and pastries) and multiple refrigerator items, packaged dry goods, drinks, cosmetics, personal hygiene and cleanliness.
In this way, the banner opens a new store in Sant Feliu de Guíxols (Girona) on April 20, which will have a space of 1,300 square meters of sales room , while the second one is located in the town of Museros ( Valencia), which will open on April 27 with a space of 1,400 square meters.
Lidl already opened the doors last February of five new points of sale in Andalusia, the Valencian Community and Castilla-La Mancha. In this case, the company came to invest some 25 million euros and create more than 90 new stable and quality jobs.
Thanks to its activity, the impact of Lidl in Spain today exceeds the 7,000 million euros per year contributed to the GDP (0.65% of the national total) and the 150,000 direct, indirect and induced jobs generated (0.76 % of the national total), according to PwC data.
