The least we can say is that season 1 of House of the Dragon ends in an epic and spectacular way. What moreover to give the mouth water for the continuation and the season 2, eagerly awaited by the fans. It must be said that HBO surprised its world with this new work. After a season 8 of Game of Thrones sawtooth, the fears were legitimate. But it is clear that with its excellent cast and fascinating story, House of the Dragon was a great success.

House of the Dragon Season 2 Skips Premiere

The news of the day is that season 2 of House of the Drago n has just started production. In elementary language, filming has just begun . A few days ago we could learn from an indiscretion of the Deadline newspaper that this sequel to the series should only have 8 episodes instead of 10 as in season 1. The goal being to improve the pace and less frustrate the viewer .

Season 2 should therefore cover a very specific part of the  Fire and Blood book  with a more strategic division. Apart from the evolution of the main characters like Rhaenyra Targaryen, Aegon II Targaryen and their entourage, this sequel may well focus on the battles and intrigues leading up to the war. The opportunity to follow the history of House Targaryen through the civil war of the Dance of the Dragons .

For 2024 without too many problems?

Given the start of filming, it is very likely to be able to watch this new season of House of the Dragon for the year 2024. Everything seems to be going like clockwork for the sequel to the HBO show. Especially since the strongman George RR Martin should once again participate in the writing or at least ensure the grain of this adaptation as was the case with season 1.

For the rest of the Game of Thrones series, several projects are underway , including Tales of Dunk and Egg , which will focus on the adventures of Ser Duncan the Great (nicknamed “Dunk”) and his squire nicknamed “the Egg”, the it all takes place around 90 years before the events of Game of Thrones. We also know that a series called Flea Bottom is planned for 2025 and that it should revolve around the poor district of the capital King’s Landing.

A series that bears the name of Snow (probably the most anticipated) is also on the way with, of course, the presence of Kit Harrington  in the role of Jon Snow . We do not know for the moment absolutely nothing of the scenario except that a part should take place beyond the wall.

Finally, a work on the conquest of Westeros by Aegon I Targaryen is currently in the works at HBO.
